Waves Campground is a beautiful campground situated in pristine bush environment. Prices from $24 for 2 people per night, including free access to all on site amenities - Hot showers, laundry facilities, camp kitchen, firepits etc. The very friendly and helpful staff make sure that all are welcome and provide local knowledge, entertainment and activities. Just a short stroll over the road and you

are presented with an unspoiled and naturally beautiful stretch of coast. Ideal for all beach goers, whether you are catching dinner or some empty waves. You are sure to have a fantastic stay at Waves Campground.

** ATTENTION: If driving from the South please stay on the highway and take the Kempsey/Crescent Head exit. The road after the ferry from Port Macquarie turns into an advanced 4WD-track.**

We are proud to say we are a FINALIST in the 2026 Business NSW Mid North Coast Business Awards!

Waves is nominated in 2 categories: Excellence in Sustainable Tourism and Excellence in Sustainability. On the 18th of September we will find out whether we bring home the awards at the award gala in Coffs Harbour.

It's a great feeling to get acknowledged for our ongoing efforts to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment. For 10 years we have pushed to improve our internal processes of material use and re-use, equipment choices, landscaping and design and monthly efforts joining a local bush regeneration group with our volunteers. Above all we have always had a HUGE focus on our waste collection and processing practices and have asked for our guests to show us their commitment too. We would not have reached the results we have so far if it wasn't for the fantastic involvement we have seen from guests and are incredibly proud and grateful this is the standard we have reached at Waves today.

Massive thanks goes out to all those guests and crew that put their best efforts in during their stay. You have made a difference!

Such an incredible thing to witness this week — a diamond python getting ready for winter! 🐍✨

This 3-metre beauty spent nearly 3 hours working her way through a fully grown possum, then found the perfect sunny patch to start digesting. Right next to the bathrooms 😆 She'll be set for weeks — maybe months — exactly what's needed when heading into winter.

Diamond pythons are non-venomous, totally harmless to humans (if left alone), and an absolute privilege to have around. This is her home as much as it is ours. 🌿

Feeling stiff? Stressed? It might be time for a massage! Massage therapy is known to have numerous benefits to your overall health and well-being, and there’s no better place to relax than Waves.

Come see us at reception to book with the one and only Fiona. She offers one hour or one and a half hour sessions, with most availability on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Scheduling outside those hours can also be possible, with enough heads up. Call us for any inquiries!

Crescent Head and Waves offer you plenty of options for beach days! Even better, access to Big Hill Beach and Delicate Nobby Headland is less than 50M from the entrance of our campground! An easy walk, check it out for a swim, a game of volleyball, or a surf!

Regardless of the beach you choose, we have surfboards and wetsuits available for rent at reception. We offer both half and full day options at affordable prices, because Waves is for everyone- and there’s a wave for everyone out front!

Not a surfer? No worries, we have boogie boards for rent as well! However, we also always recommend looking into Crescent Head Learn to Surf School. Both private and group lessons are available to schedule.

Did you know theres a café on site at Waves? Come visit Jared and Maddie at Swell Nourished Café for some wholesome eats and mindful drinks! A wide range of items on their menu, Swell uses local and organic ingredients to fulfill their mantra of “real food not fast food”. Come check it out for yourself- and maybe even visit reception to book with the site while you’re at it.

Swell is open daily from 7 AM until 2 PM now until April 20th, as well as every Saturday from 5 PM to 9 PM for dinner and open mic jam nights! If you’ve got some musical talent, come try your hand at performing this Saturday!
