Assistant Park Manager Couple
Full-Time Positions | Cunnamulla, Queensland | Start Date: End of September 2026
Cunnamulla Cabins and Caravan Park is seeking a motivated and capable couple to join our team as Assistant Park Managers in the heart of Queensland's Outback.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on assistant management team who enjoy delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high presentation standards, and being actively involved in all aspects of a thriving accommodation business. We are looking for people who take pride in their work, enjoy interacting with travellers from across Australia and beyond, and can confidently assist owners to manage the day-to-day operations the park.
Ideally, one partner will bring strong administration, reception and customer service skills, while the other will have experience in grounds maintenance, property upkeep and general handyman duties. Together, you will oversee the smooth operation of the park and work collaboratively across all areas as required.
About Cunnamulla Cabins and Caravan Park
Cunnamulla Cabins and Caravan Park is a welcoming accommodation destination offering cabins, powered and unpowered caravan sites, and camping facilities for travellers exploring South West Queensland. Known for our friendly country hospitality, clean facilities and relaxed atmosphere, we provide a comfortable base for tourists, grey nomads, workers and families visiting the region.
We currently operate a range of cabin configurations with a total 14 cabins in total. We also operate 18 powered sites and some unpowered sites.
Located in the historic town of Cunnamulla, our park takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable experiences for every guest who stays with us.
About the Roles
As Assistant Park Managers, you will be responsible to work alongside the owners to maintain and manage the park, and managing the park and staff when the owners are offsite. You will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management and operation of Cunnamulla Cabins and Caravan Park when this is the case.
These are genuine, full-time hands-on positions where you will be part of a motivated team, working directly the motivated owners and within the business, while supervising casual team members when required. Success in these roles requires flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to maintaining high standards across all areas of the park.
Key Responsibilities
When being relief Park Management, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing the daily operation of the caravan park and cabin accommodation.
• Coordinating staff schedules, workloads and operational priorities.
• Ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
• Handling operational challenges efficiently and professionally.
• Monitoring Park presentation, cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Managing after-hours guest enquiries and emergency situations when required.
• Liaising with contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Assisting with property improvement projects and ongoing maintenance programs.
• Fostering a positive team culture focused on guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Reception and Administration
• Experience with Newbook or RMS.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service both in person and over the phone.
• Manage reservations, guest enquiries, check-ins and check-outs.
• Process bookings, payments and guest accounts accurately.
• Maintain booking systems and accommodation records.
• Respond promptly to guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly administrative tasks.
• Prepare guest communications.
• Ensure compliance with park policies and procedures.
Groundskeeping and Maintenance
• Maintain lawns, gardens and outdoor recreational areas.
• Conduct regular inspections of cabins, amenities and park infrastructure.
• Undertake general maintenance, repairs and property upkeep.
• Perform painting, basic carpentry and handyman tasks as required.
• Monitor and maintain utility systems, equipment and facilities.
• Manage waste disposal areas and maintain overall park presentation.
• Coordinate external contractors for specialised repairs and servicing.
• Pool maintenance and cleaning.
Housekeeping and Accommodation Services
• Assist with cleaning cabins, amenities blocks and communal facilities.
• Ensure accommodation is prepared to a high standard before guest arrivals.
• Support housekeeping operations during busy periods.
• Manage laundry operations, linen stock and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the property.
About You
We are seeking an assistant management couple who can demonstrate:
• A willingness to learn.
• A strong commitment to customer service excellence.
• Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, accommodation or property management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative, organisational and computer skills.
• Practical maintenance, handyman or groundskeeping experience within the couple.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating day-to-day operations.
• A flexible, hands-on approach with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
• Pride in maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Confidence working in a remote, regional location and engaging with a diverse range of guests.
• Enjoys working as valued member of a team.
Essential Requirements
The successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain:
• A current National Police Check.
• A current First Aid Certificate.
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence.
• Australian work rights.
