Our Story

The ELEPHANT BRIDGE HOTEL • Darlington (Circa 1842) is one of the oldest hotels in Victoria. Nestled in a rural landscape alongside the meandering Mount Emu Creek, once a bullock wagon crossing and horse and coach changeover between Portland, Belfast or Port Fairy and Geelong.

It’s surrounded by the world’s third largest volcanic plain with its many picturesque Lakes & Craters and the location is central to the Great Ocean Road & Shipwreck Coast, the Otway Ranges and the Mount Sturgeon & Grampian Wine Regions. It’s a perfect stay for weekenders, travellers and tourists alike with a desire to experience Victoria’s South-West . . . and has been described as one of the “hidden gems” among the State’s best kept secrets - HeraldSun 2016.

This charming bluestone establishment fuses its quintessential colonial past with boutique-style accommodation and sublime modern comforts.

There are four guest rooms and two shared bathrooms, all recently refurbished and beautifully appointed with super-comfy beds, quality linen, luxury EBH robes, heating, flat screen televisions and wifi. The Bed & Breakfast includes a continental whole-food-local-artesian breakfast is included with freshly squeezed juice, quality teas and espresso coffee is inclusive.
