Seeing Queer NT

Seeing Queer NT One queer's collection of what's on, where to go and who to look out for in NT's queer communities. Let’s see how this goes. I’m Gina. I’m seeing queer NT.

I spend a fair bit of time trying to keep up with what’s on, where to go, and who’s who in the queer communities of Garrmalang (and also Mparntwe and other parts of the NT). So, I’m gonna park stuff on the socials as I go along and maybe it’ll be fun for me and a bit of a shortcut for others. If you’re Queer or other LGBTIASB+ in the NT and you’re running an event/exhibition, in an event/exhibitio

n, own/manage a business, whatever, and you’d like me to have you on my queerdar... hit me up with a dm. This is SQuiNT. Insta:

I acknowledge the Gulumoerrgin/Larrakia people as the custodians of Garrmalang/Darwin and beyond. These lands have been places of gathering, celebration and creativity for tens of thousands of years, and I am lucky and grateful to live and love here. I give my respect to your Elders past, present and emerging. And I commit to tread lightly on your beautiful Country.

🎨 THE CHRISTOPHERS is coming soon to Deckchair Cinema!

From acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh, this sharp, witty black comedy stars Ian McKellen as Julian Sklar, a once-celebrated London artist living in seclusion.

When his estranged children hire a struggling painter, played by Michaela Coel, to gain access to a valuable series of unfinished works, the result is a deliciously clever story of art, legacy, greed and pride.

With a brilliant cast including Jessica Gunning and James Corden, The Christophers is a stylish comedy-drama about who gets to decide what art is worth.

Screening 19 June, 29 June and 16 July under the stars at Deckchair Cinema.

Darwin’s longest running spoken word open-mic night is hosting a special festival edition of Wild Words. You’re invited to take to the stage to digest, process, and respond to this months theme: 'What's in a name?'.

Write a piece - prose, poetry, insight or rhyme - to share or relax to some of the Top End’s finest wordsmiths. This event is free, just turn up!

The NT Writers Festival is a celebration of story, language and culture. View the rest of our program at ntwriters.com.au or via the link in our bio.
