Take a few days and explore more...

Venture south to the Katherine region to discover idyllic thermal springs, star gazing uninterrupted by big city lights, and of course, waterfalls.

-Bitter Springs: Natures lazy river! Bring your pool noodle or swim ring and take a float down the springs in the warm, crystal clear water.
-Nitmiluk: Take a cruise on the gorge or enjoy star gazing after the sun has gone down.
-Mataranka: Enjoy a soak in the thermal springs. We recommend visiting early to see the springs at their most magical.
-Katherine Hot Springs: Just moments outside of Katherine township, the springs are open seasonally and are perfect for a dip on the road.
-Edith Falls - Leliyn: a short walk from the carpark leads you to the plunge pool at the base of the falls. The walk to the top pools is worth the hike!

With so many more attractions and sites to see, we highly recommend spending more time in the top end!

Use Palms City Resort as your base and see the best that the far north has to offer!

PICKLES’ ADVENTURES | My Morning Routine

My morning at Palms City Resort starts the same way.

First, I check the gardens.
Then I find the perfect sunny spot.
After that, I keep an eye on what's happening around the resort.

And, of course, I make sure everyone knows I'm here.

It's a tough job being everyone's favourite resort bird… but someone has to do it!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe breakfast is calling.

Until time,

One of the best things about Darwin? The sunsets are free!

Mindil Beach is one of Darwin's most iconic spots to watch the sun disappear over the Timor Sea.

Take a stroll along the beach, enjoy the tropical atmosphere and, when the markets are operating, grab something delicious from the Mindil Beach Sunset Market.

It's the perfect way to finish a day exploring Darwin.

And the best part? Palms City Resort is right in the heart of the city, making it easy to experience everything Darwin has to offer. 🌴

PICKLES’ ADVENTURES | Garden Patrol 🌴

Hello, humans! Pickles here.

I thought I’d take you along on one of my regular garden patrols at Palms City Resort.

There are palms to inspect, flowers to investigate and plenty of humans to keep an eye on.

Someone has to make sure the gardens are looking their best, and frankly, my eye for detail is impeccable.

Everything passed inspection today with flying colours!

Until next time!

Looking for somewhere great to eat with a view?

One of the best things about Darwin is that you don't have to go far to find delicious food with a beautiful waterfront setting.

Here are some of our favourite spots to add to your Darwin dining list:

☕ The Gully Cafe & Bagel Shop
Perfect for starting the day with breakfast, coffee or a bagel before heading out to explore Darwin.

🌊 Darwin Trailer Boat Club
Located right on the beachfront, the Trailer Boat Club is perfect for a laid-back meal while watching the boats and enjoying the tropical surroundings.

Darwin Sailing Club
A Darwin institution overlooking Fannie Bay. It's a great spot for a relaxed meal, a drink and one of those spectacular Top End sunsets.

🌴 Darwin Ski Club
Head to the waterfront Bali Bar for a relaxed afternoon or evening, with plenty of space to enjoy the sunset.

🦐 Crustaceans on the Wharf
For something a little more special, enjoy seafood and harbour views at Stokes Hill Wharf. It's hard to beat dining over the water as the sun goes down.

From casual breakfasts to sunset dinners, there's something wonderful about dining outdoors in Darwin. 🌴

Staying at Palms City Resort? Ask our team for more local dining recommendations — we love helping our guests discover Darwin like a local. 💚

Have you explored Darwin’s mangroves?

For a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, head to the Mangrove Boardwalk at East Point Reserve.

The boardwalk takes you through the unique mangrove environment and coastal wetlands that are such an important part of the Top End landscape. Take your time, enjoy the scenery and keep an eye out for the birds, crabs and other wildlife that inhabit the area.

It's a great option when you want to experience Darwin's natural side without travelling far from the city.

Whether you're an early-morning explorer, looking for a relaxing afternoon walk or simply want to discover somewhere new, the East Point Mangrove Boardwalk is worth adding to your Darwin itinerary.

📍 East Point Reserve, Darwin

Staying at Palms City Resort? Make time to explore beyond the city streets and discover the natural beauty right on our doorstep. 💚
