Did you know we have the best Parmi in Brisbane right here in Dayboro?!

No, I'm not confused, this is in fact a chicken burger... Also deliciously tasty.
Unfortunately by the time I remembered to photograph it, the parmi was not looking it's most photogenic.

This is not our first fantastic meal at The Dayboro Drop, and unfortunately every time I walk in, I think 'I must take a photo of our meal to share on socials' and every time the food reaches the table looking fantastic, and before I know it, I'm halfway through thinking 'ooops...'

If you're looking for a delicious meal to top off your visit to Dayboro, you cant go past the Dayboro Drop. Too good to sit and look at 🤣

Sunday afternoons on a property look a little different...

I get lots of guests commenting on how lucky we are to live out here enjoying the views and hanging with the animals, and they're absolutely right. What they don't see though is the blood, sweat and tears that go into maintaining it all behind the scenes, no matter the weather.

Today was one of those perfect winter days. I could have been anywhere, relaxing in the sun and soaking it in. Instead I was scrambling through thick scrubby w**d at the entrance to the property. The Japanese sunflower lining the roads may look lovely, but it is a major nuisance, and after 3 years of looking at it on the verge and trying to keep it out of the paddocks, I finally got an afternoon to get out and cut it all back. Hopefully reducing the spread, but more importantly, clearing up a wonderful vantage point!

I'm not done yet, but it's progress. Hard work, sure... But would I have it any other way? Not in a million years 💕

It's amazing how the places that are right on our doorstep are sometimes the hardest to make time to get to. We love to head out bush walking, but for the longest of times I've been wanting to explore some of the 4wd roads through D'Aguilar National Park. Unfortunately when you're running a business, and it feels like there's always more to do than hours in a day, it's easy to put it off for 'next weekend...' So, after a lovely chat with one of our guests this morning (also a business owner) who reminded me of the importance of taking time for ourselves, I set off this afternoon to explore a new part of our beautiful back yard 💕

D'Aguilar National Park is just a short drive up the mountain, and if you dont own a 4wd, dont worry! You can take sealed roads all the way to The Gantry where there are beautiful trails to explore and plenty of space for a picnic lunch!

Don't feel like packing a picnic? Drop by one of our lovely dayboro cafes for supplies or keep going to The Dag Pub or Woodford to continue your adventures!

Hearding 30+ goats on you're own some days requires a bit of creative thinking (and some precision driving 😆)
These gates are great for moving the llamas across the drive, for the goats it's more of a suggestion to be ignored 🤦‍♀️

I think a sheep dog might need to be next on the animal wish list 🤣

Something a bit different this week, a trip to Toowoomba for !
No surprise that most of our time was spent looking at all the animals. The angora and cashmere goats were definitely a favourite, but I was too busy giving scratches to take any photos!
