🖤 A small pond. A big purpose. 🖤
After a month of planning and hands-on building, I’ve welcomed 5 Southern Pygmy Perch into a newly created nurture pond at Blue Jay Daylesford.
These small native fish are critically endangered in Victoria, largely due to habitat loss and changes to waterways. While this is a tiny setup, it’s a meaningful way to support conservation at a local level.
The pond is also part of the early planning for the Nurture & Heal retreats I’m developing at Blue Jay. Gentle reflective retreats for people navigating grief, trauma, cancer, and deep life change. I’m working on some beautiful inclusions.
It was built slowly and thoughtfully with native plants, shelter, soft water movement, and natural food… I even let the mozzies get me so they are stocked with wrigglers 😂
Conservation doesn’t always have to be large-scale. Sometimes it’s one small habitat at a time.
🧡 Supporting what belongs here.
