Winter Fridays at Lake House.

Each Friday throughout winter, local pianist and songstress Helen Davey takes her place at Florentine, our grand piano, filling the room with silky jazz and timeless melodies. After decades performing between Australia and Switzerland, Helen brings warmth, elegance and a little nostalgia to the start of every weekend.

Whether you're joining us for a long lunch, checking in for the weekend, or arriving early for dinner, settle into a leather armchair, order a martini, and let the week slip away.

A Winter Lunch for Two
Special Menu – Friday Lunch
June | July | August

Our winter Friday lunch menu for two includes: O’Connors 4-week dry aged Rib Eye (600g); condiments; two seasonal sides featuring our Dairy Flat farm produce; the much loved slow fermented spelt sourdough from our bakehouse with whipped butter. Paired with a glass of wine from one of our premium local vignerons, we’ll be featuring a different maker each week.

Settle in and enjoy the winter landscape through the vast windows towards the lake.

Additional daily items are available for your selection. Book a group and enjoy a leisurely lunch together. Retreat to the library for post lunch drinks.

Some winemakers arrive through tradition.
Sierra Reed arrived through curiosity, and her wines reflect it: alive, expressive, and deeply considered.

Her story —
Begins not in a cellar, but in front of a camera.
While filming with Family of Twelve in New Zealand, Sierra spent time interviewing leading winemaking families. Somewhere in those conversations, she realised she didn’t just want to tell wine stories, she wanted to make them.
She put the camera down and picked up a vintage.

The Lunch —
This August, join us at Lake House for a long winter lunch in the Waterfront Pavilion, unhurried, generous, and built around conversation, wine and seasonal food.
A shared winter feast from the Lake House kitchen will be paired with wines from the Reed portfolio, with Sierra guiding each pour and sharing the stories behind them.

Your Winter Cocoon Package is designed as a complete escape. Days begin with country-style breakfasts featuring pastries and sourdough from our bake house, before unfolding into slow moments by the lake, in the spa, or within the quiet of your suite.

One evening is reserved for a seasonal multi-course dinner in our Two Chef Hat restaurant, while time in The Spa includes a 100% mineral hot soak for two and a $200 credit towards restorative treatments.

Cocoon yourself this winter under the luxurious layers of great food, wine, service, spa and cozy surrounds at Lake House, Daylesford.

Days begin with white frosts and mist lingering over the lake. A country-style breakfasts (Honest Eggs, house-braised beans, farm greens & more) hits the spot along with St. Ali coffee, signature blend organic teas — or perhaps breakfast in bed? Who can pass up those pastries from our bake house?

Winter unfolds slowly: books & games in the library, marshmallows and hot apple cider by the firepit, a walk around the lake or a hit of tennis followed by a soak and sauna.

In the evening, negronis by the fire become a ritual before dinner, where winter harvest from the farm alongside long term trusted suppliers feature on the menu.

In The Spa, Ayurvedic-inspired therapies, hot mineral bathing, and rhythmic massage invite deep rest and restoration.

There’s never really a wrong time to escape to Daylesford, but a long weekend gives you permission to slow down.

With the King’s Birthday long weekend approaching, retreat to Lake House for a few unhurried days by the water. Mist over the lake in the mornings, pastries and sourdough from our bake house, long lunches, mineral soaks in the Spa and evenings by the fire with a glass from the cellar.
