————Black Dog Ride Update————

The ride is 100% on this Sunday

Back in February me and the missus decided to jump on a plane and go drink some booze in a colder place than a Deepwater winter.

Anyway while we were away, some orange looking dude cracked the sh*ts with these blokes from the oil industry. I mean really spat it. So he dropped a few grenades on them. Naturally, like most blokes they said ‘f**k you’ and threw a bit of ammo back at them.

Anyhow, these cluster f***s HAD some mutual mates nearby and they’re pretty well off and own a few planes. They panicked and said bu**er the both of you, we’re gonna shut out airports until further notice and you can both go jump!

Unbeknown to the orange dude, we were gonna use one of those planes to get home!!

So we’ve been stuck over here in some place called Switzerland. Some bloke was nearly gonna cut my throat whose mates with the oil dudes so I disguised myself and IRan away!

Anyway, we put our covert research gear on and decided to make sure the food and beers over here were safe to drink. Naturally we took this serious!

The short version is I’ve also got some Asian mates from Hong Kong with a plane and they offered to drop us off in Brisbane this Sunday night. So unfortunately I won’t be at the ride.

I’m confident those who turn up will all decide on a fun ride. Enjoy!

Australia and particularly Deepwater truly is the lucky country!

The photo is my lunch in Switzerland.
$90 with the 2 drinks and 5 chicken wings that look like they’ve been in chicken boot camp and lost too much weight.

When you own a pub in sheep, cattle and Barnaby country, you never know what might happen when the pub owner with a few sherbets under his belt grabs the microphone in a set break from Josh Moylan our local muso legend! Note to Josh dont disappear during your 2nd set 15 min break! Haha

Once the sun heads further west, the front of the Top Pub will be a cool shade haven and only a few short steps to very cold beer!

Our local singing legend Josh Moylan will be set up street side to belt Australia’s favourite home grown tunes!

There’s food on all arvo!

If you’ve never had a ‘pig in a blanket’ Australia Day is the day to try it.

Tonight one of Deepwater’s favourite persons is having his 80th birthday dinner. Ian is a genuine trooper still riding horses daily.

At the Deepwater Jockey Club working bees, Ian is always on the track helping out. Hes such an amazing aussie and contributor in our proud community!!

Popping a 50 person dinner function on top of an already packed house and very very busy Australia Day Weekend is where we excel as a little pub. Functions are our ace of hearts!

Happy Birthday Ian! Enjoy your birthday sip and horseshoe birthday cake our fabulous chef prepared today for you.

6 more sleeps until the mega Deepwater Cup. I’ve just returned from the track and the place is sparkling! The volunteers have used their magic wands once again.

The fun begins Friday night at The Top Pub with The Official Deepwater Cup Calcutta. If you’ve never been to a genuine Calcutta, come along and watch the action!
