Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has named Tasmania among his favourite food destinations in the world, praising our world-class produce and seafood.

In a video for Conde Nast Traveller, Ramsay said he was “blown away” by Tasmania - including the island's crayfish and whisky, telling a story about catching a cray off the coast.

"I couldn't quite believe the standard of fish, shellfish, lamb, beef. It was incredible," he said.

"So yeah, Tasmania all day long."

Tourism Tasmania and Tourism Minister Jane Howlett say Ramsay’s praise is priceless publicity for the state’s reputation.
