If you’re after something a bit different while you’re here on the North West Coast, check out Savu Saunas.
They’ve got a few spots around the area (Devonport Bluff, Cooee Beach and Penguin) where you can book a 50‑min sauna session and unwind. A great way to relax after a day on the water, at the markets, or while exploring town.

🔥 Sessions are booked in advance (via app or online), and you’ll share the sauna with a small group, but it’s chill and welcoming.

Perfect for melting tension, warming up on a cool Tassie morning, or just trying something local.

📍 A quick drive from Annie May or even walking distance, add it to your Devonport stay

Ever stood in a place that felt older than time?
Welcome to Fossil Bluff, Tasmania’s ancient shoreline, where the cliffs are older than the hills, and the only sound is the ocean rewriting the story again and again.

✨ Why this spot is unmissable:
25-million-year-old fossilised marine life
No tour buses, just golden cliffs & soft sand
Epic views toward Table Cape (especially at sunset)
Shell collecting, barefoot wandering, and slow travel magic

🔎 Where to find it: Wynyard, NW Tasmania, just a short walk from town, but it feels like another world.

📸 Bring your camera, your quiet, and that curious friend who gets excited about “hidden gems” that actually are.

Just landed on the North West Coast and still feeling like exploring?
Launceston’s only an hour away, easy day trip. And if you’re around 30 Jan – 1 Feb, Festivale is on.
It’s one of Tassie’s biggest summer food and wine events, heaps of local stalls, music, and really good vibes in City Park. Go for the afternoon, come back for a quiet night at Annie May.
Best of both worlds: a fun day out, and no noisy hotel room to come back to.

Just down the road from Annie May, something exquisite is about to unfold.
Held at the Latrobe Memorial Hall, the 2026 Latrobe Lilium Show will showcase the later blooms of Oriental, Trumpet/Aurelian, and Oriental/Trumpet Hybrid Liliums, as well as rare species not often seen outside private gardens.

This isn’t your everyday flower show. It’s a celebration of extraordinary beauty, with floral art demonstrations led by an interstate guest judge, and a trade table brimming with Lilium bulbs, flowers, seeds, and hand-selected companion plants.

You’ll find expert advice and thoughtful displays to deepen your appreciation of these breathtaking blooms, some of which feel almost too rare to be real.

Afterwards, return to Annie May for a cup of tea, where beauty lingers, and the hush of heritage holds you gently.

If you’re like me and you prefer places that feel just different, you might want to know about this one.
It’s called Annie May.

Tucked quietly in Devonport, in a heritage house that’s seen a lot of life, it’s now just a beautiful, peaceful space for people who want calm over chaos.

There are no flashy signs. No identical rooms.
Just polished wood floors, natural soft lighting, and a sense that someone really thought about how to make you feel held.

It’s not for everyone. But it might be for you.
Especially if you’ve been craving something that feels a little more… like coming home.

If you're the kind of person who likes to feel the buzz of New Year’s Eve…
But doesn’t want to be stuck shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers holding warm plastic cups, we see you.

At Annie May, you’re just a short mosey from Devonport’s waterfront celebrations.
Close enough to catch the fireworks over the Mersey River.

Far enough to leave the noise behind the moment you step through the front door.

✨ Start the evening with a glass of bubbles, a long bath and a bite to eat at one of our local restaurants
Then wander along, feel the energy, watch the sky light up…
And come home to quiet.

Wake up on 1 January with clear thoughts, soft light, and your first morning walk of 2026 along the Mersey River.

🛏 Adults only, 7 rooms, space to exhale.
