And that's a wrap for season 2025.
It was a great honour and a privilege to host this year. Thank you to Paul and the Maraltadj Family Aboriginal Corp.
We hope everyone that made it this far up into the Kimberley's had an amazing time as we have had for the last 4 months enjoying the beautiful ocean side beach camp with amazing sunset views and the crackling of a campfire.
we were joined by previous years' hosts Harry & Sandra 2023 and the Rafters 2024 for a farewell photo and a new entry into the history books Brad & Jane 2025

The 2025 season is drawing to a close, and we will be closing the campground as of Sunday, 28th September.
There will be no camping after this date.
So to all you late season travellers, there is still time to enjoy our beautiful camp and amazing sunsets. We hope to see you soon.

Fuel is now available at Kalumburu Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8am to 10am.

Please note anyone travelling to McGowan or Honeymoon Bay will require a permit to travel through the Kalumburu Reserve.
Permits can be obtained from the Uraro Community Store in Kalumburu.
Anyone found on the Kalumburu Reserve without a permit will be asked to leave.

MCGOWAN ISLAND BEACH WILL BE OPEN FOR THE 2025 TOURIST SEASON!
Please note the road between Kalumburu and Theda Station is still very ordinary in sections especially the black soil plain just north of Theda. Give it a week and it'll dry up, trying to get in early is just going to make it hard for everyone.
People left Kalumburu this morning against local advice and have not been seen at Drysdale today.
Looking forward to seeing you all this season.

And just like that McGowan Island Campground is now closed for the 2024 season.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Maraltadj Family Aboriginal Corp and Paul for allowing us to camp host this year and open McGowan Island up for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you to all that helped us along the way we couldn’t have done it without you and to everyone that made it up to McGowans and camped with us this season, we thank you for coming all this way to enjoy this slice of paradise with us, we met some incredible people, made life long friends and overall was one heck of an experience.
We wish you all happy and safe travels.

Season 2024 closure update-
The final night of camping for 2024 will be Monday the 30th of September, closing the gates on the 1st of October. Please note there will be no camping available after this date at McGowans.

With still a few weeks left of the season, we can’t wait to meet the travellers that are still on their way up here 😃
