"The house was so wonderful and warm when we arrived, with candles burning and the heater on. The beds are cosy and lush, and the kitchen has everything you need to self cater, and the bath tub is amazing! There are lots of little extras. We has such a beautiful stay that we extended by a night!!"

Think a sturdy backpack with waist straps that distributes weight evenly, crucial for those steep climbs like Mt Sturgeon. Remember a portable charger; stunning landscapes deserve capturing, and phone batteries can drain quickly in the great outdoors.

Packing for varied weather is key. The Grampians can experience sunshine and showers in a single day. A lightweight waterproof jacket is indispensable.

After a day exploring, a hearty meal is a must. You can use the fully equipped kitchen at Salt Creek Cottage, grab delicious provisions from the local stores and cafes, or dine out at the likes of the ever-popular Royal Mail Hotel.
