For more than 15 years, Lanterns Retreat in Dunsborough has quietly built a reputation not simply as a place to stay, but as a place guests genuinely remember.

Under the thoughtful care of Serge and his family, Lanterns Retreat has become known for its warmth, generosity and deeply personal style of hospitality — something reflected time and again in the many heartfelt reviews from returning guests over the years. Serge’s care for the property and the guests who have stayed, have created something truly special.

In 2026, our family begins the next chapter of Lanterns Retreat with enormous respect for what has come before.

Lanterns Retreat will remain proudly small, family-run and intentionally personal. This is hosted accommodation in the truest sense — offering the comfort and reassurance of being welcomed and cared for, while still allowing guests complete privacy and independence.
