Check out a couple of our recent 5 star reviews!!

Thankyou to everyone who comes and stays and leave us awesome reviews like this.

*****The former cadet school has everything you need from sleeping quarters to community kitchen. It also has family quarters.
Very well maintained by the staff.
Although it's basically self sufficient, Paola is super helpful if needed. The Dwellingup town with service station, General store and local pub just a short walk away.

Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5*****

*****This is a beautiful place to stay in the peace and quiet and beauty of the forest, despite being only a short walk from town.
I have been coming here for 10 years with my sewing group and we always have a wonderful time. It's important to understand these are basic cabins, no ensuite bathrooms or central heating, and it's all self catering with no staff on site. But if you pack the right clothes and all your supplies it's a great place for a break with friends and family.

Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5

Walkability: Can easily walk to town for coffee or the pub.
Food and drinks: Fully equipped kitchen, you must bring all your own food.
Hotel highlights: Quiet, Great value

The Noongar season of Djilba has begun πŸ“…

Djilba is a transitional time of the year, usually spanning across August and September, with days ranging from cold and clear to warm and rainy, interspersed with the occasional sunny day or two β„πŸŒ¨β›…πŸŒ€πŸŒž

It is a time when the wattles come into full bloom and signal the start of the mass blooming of the south-west 🌻

Traditionally, the main food sources include many of the land based grazing animals such as Yonga (kangaroo), Waitj (emu) and Koomal (possum) 🦘

The woodland birds will still be nest bound, hence the swooping protective behaviour of the Koolbardi (Magpie), Djidi Djidi (W***y Wag Tails) and Chuck-a-luck (Wattle Birds)🐣

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… "Lovely, well-kept, classic lodge experience that is sadly disappearing. I stayed at the 'cadet' solo accommodation on a trip through on the Bibbulmun. Though self-service, the staff I did deal with were pleasant, the accommodation was quaint, clean, and the facilities (shared laundr...

After a super busy school holidays at the Jarrah Forest Lodge this was our favourite review!

We love having families and groups here. Witnessing so many children having fun in the safe, stimulating and nurturing Forest environment was an absolute joy for the JFL caretakers.

WOW Look at the latest Wendy Binks mural at the Jarrah Forest Lodge . Aren't we so lucky? The owls are beautiful but very UN-lucky when they eat their natural prey or bring it back to their young not knowing it is poisoned with our household rat and mouse baits. Please read Wendy's useful info about which baits to buy and to use them sparingly because of secondary poisoning to out native birds and wildlife.

Thanks Wendy Binks!

Did you know the Nyoongar of the south west have 6 seasons?

We are currently in Makuru-Season of fertility.

Makuru is the coldest and wettest time of the year, you will see increased rain and storms, food sources changed as the waterways and rivers started to fill. People moved inland away from the coast for protection and to hunt inland animals. Animals also start to pair up in preparation for breeding season.
