In some exciting news! We are delighted to advise that Walhalla Ghost Tours are back from this coming Saturday. Because of strict COVID-19 regulations the tours will be different! A maximum of 10 people [9 guests + 1 ghost host], only guests from regional Victoria [ID will be required...Melbourne guests can join the fun when able], mask wearing [not the spooky kind] and social distancing will be required too! ATTENTION ALL CAMPERS

NEW 'OPEN FIRE' RULE - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

As we have had a long drought period this year and, with a policy of prevention is better than cure, I have made the decision to ban any open fires on site when the CFA Fire rating for the area is above “HIGH”. That means that if the rating is VERY HIGH, SEVERE, EXTREME or CODE RED. No open fires will be allowed on site without exception.

There will shortly be indicator boards on the picnic ground and near the toilets showing the rating however in the mean time the Warden will notify people the evening before.

Failure to keep to this will mean you will be asked to leave and the Wardens decision is final. I would remind people that Scouts Victoria’s policy in regards to threats, violence or abuse levied at members of the Association will result in you being asked to leave the site and legal action may be taken.

I have not taken this decision lightly, but given that Caringal is in a fire prone area and my priority is the safety of the users and the campsite itself I feel it is a necessary step. If users do not abide by this rule I will have no option but to ban open fires completely during the fire risk period

I hope that all campers continue to enjoy their stay at Caringal and return again.
