⚠️ Caltrop: fast-growing and hard to stop once established

Caltrop is a low-growing summer w**d that can germinate in any soil type and thrive with heat, sunlight and minimal water. Its stems can spread up to 2m, forming dense mats that are quick to establish and easy to spread.

What to watch for
👉 Bright yellow flowers from spring through autumn
👉 Rapid growth – flowers within weeks, seeds soon after
👉 Flowering can continue for months until plants die off in early winter
Prevention is the best control

Caltrop spreads readily via seed, so keeping it off your property is key. Clean machinery and vehicles before leaving infested areas, and minimise stock movements from affected paddocks.

Early action and good hygiene can help stop caltrop taking hold and spreading further.

**Trucks Will Keep Australia Moving**

With the recent train derailment disrupting rail freight, it's a stark reminder of just how critical our trucking industry is to this country. When rail goes down, who picks up the slack? We do.

While trains carry bulk freight efficiently, they're locked to fixed routes and schedules. When something goes wrong, like this derailment, entire supply chains grind to a halt. But trucks? We adapt. We reroute. We keep going.

Right now, truckies across the country are stepping up to move the freight that would've been on that train. Extra loads, longer hours, tighter schedules. It's what we do. We're the backbone of Australia's supply chain, the safety net when other transport modes fail.

Every item on a supermarket shelf, every piece of machinery on a mine site, every product in your local store, it all moved by truck at some point. Even goods that travel by rail or sea still need a truck to get them to their final destination.

So next time you see a road train or B-double rolling past, remember this: when everything else stops, trucks keep Australia moving. We always have, and we always will.
