Saturday is the first patrol of the 2026/27 season.

Red and yellow flags on Fingal Beach again, every weekend and public holiday through to Anzac Day. If you're swimming, swim between them.

It's also the morning to come and see how it works. The boards, the tubes, the ATV and the radios are all out on the sand from 10 to 2, and there'll be plenty of people to ask. Kids into Nippers, yourself onto patrol, or an hour on the barbecue.

Sunday is the second Nippers pool evaluation at Tomaree, 9.30am to 12.

The flags mark the safest part of the beach — the stretch our volunteers are watching. When you're down at Fingal this summer, swim between the red and yellow. It's the simplest thing you can do to keep you and your family safe. 🔴🟡

The “humpback highway” of Port Stephens is in full swing this winter! 🐋

Join us for The Human Whale at Fingal Bay Beach next weekend – a unique event celebrating the annual humpback whale migration.

🗓️ Sunday 19 July
🕙 10am to 2pm
📍 Fingal Bay Beach

Participate in forming the outline of a 100-metre humpback whale on the sand, paying tribute to more than 40,000 whales that pass the Port Stephens coastline each year!

The event will feature:

🌭 Sausage Sizzle hosted by the Fingal Bay Surf Life Saving Club
