Built in the late 1800's the building hasn't had much structual change apart from the lounge area built in the early 1970's. Nifty's Cafe Bakery & Pizza was introduced mid-2020 and the lounge area's renovations were completed in October, still retaining many of the original features (including the vintage Boags windows). Situated on the banks of the Forth River with farm land and rolling hills there is always something for everyone.

Voting continues for the 2026 Pulse Tasmania and Hospitality Tasmania People’s Choice Awards, giving Tasmanians the chance to support their favourite venues across the state.

The awards cover Best Pub, Best Bottle Shop, Best Breakfast, Best Coffee and Best Live Music, with more than 1,000 nomination responses received.

Pulse Tasmania and Hospitality Tasmania said all nominated venues, from major operators to smaller local favourites, have now moved through to the voting stage.

Winners will be announced from September 25 to 29, before celebrations wrap up at the Hospitality Tasmania Awards for Excellence at Mac02 on September 30.

We’re thrilled to announce our second special guest for the Grand Final Eve Luncheon at The Forth Pub — AFL umpiring icon, Razor Ray Chamberlain!

One of the most recognisable and colourful characters in AFL football, Razor Ray umpired an incredible 385 AFL games, including three AFL Grand Finals, across a career spanning more than 20 years.

Now bringing his trademark personality, humour and incredible insight into the game to the media and corporate speaking world, Razor will give us a unique perspective on the big game, the players, the coaches — and of course, the umpires!
