Our Story
The Burnett Hotel Backpackers is proud to open its doors to Traveling community. Built in 1890, the Burnett Hotel has remained in the Original Family until 2014, where it was sold and bought by Narelle Barnicoat, who has transformed to the Hotel/Bar into an affordable accomodation for those who need it, wether you just be passing through or looking to stop and work for a time, with a Friendly & Family like atmosphere this is the place to be. We have a range of air-conditioned rooms available from 4 bed dorms, to Twin and Double rooms The Burnett Hotel Backpackers has the best location right in the middle of the Town of Gayndah itself. Placed on the Banks of the Burnett River, the view on the back terrace insights you to sit and relax and take in the stunning atmosphere. Located within a 5 min walk away from the local I.G.A and takeaway shop with a laundret located quite literally the otherside of the road, with a beautiful park just behind, youll never need to drive anywhere. For those who wish to work, work is available here. Serino Rossos' Harvest Office is within a 5 min walk, they offer all kinds of citrus work in the many Orchids surrounding Gayndah. -Citrus Picking/Packing Season begins here between mid March and early April until September. -Citrus Pruning and Thining Begins start of November until mid January. We offer an incredible range of facilities and events. Included in your room fee you will have access too: Free Unlimited WI-FI; A large wide Balcony to accomdate all the smokers; The Public Bar; a Private Commercial Kitchen with all the equipment inside; BBQ facilities; A games room (which includes: Arcade games, 2 Pool tables, a ping pong table, 3 Darts boards, Board games and more) Events Include: Saturday Raffle draw in the bar International Food night BBQ Night Also included is Free Parking and Storage for personal belongings such as big bags and bulky suitcases.
