Our LBI partner community knows that the concept of being grounded is at the heart of everything we do. When we are grounded, we are able to respond rather than react — ensuring our own needs are met while also being fully present to support the needs of those entrusted to our care.

As we approach Christmas — along with the busyness, pressure, and expectations that often come with it — grounding becomes more important than ever.

One simple but powerful strategy is to name and reactivate your grounding practices. What helps you feel centred and present in action?

We love this example from our partner network, Compass Catholic Community, who have created a dedicated grounding resource wall. It’s a brilliant way to embed grounding into everyday language, learning, and support.

Could grounding — or a word that resonates for you — become part of your daily conversations and intentional practice?

Let’s keep supporting ourselves, so we can continue supporting each other. 🌱✨

Built in 1863, Lemke Cottage is a beautifully restored heritage home nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Moculta— just 12 km from Angaston, in the heart of South Australia's iconic Barossa Valley.
Named after Daniel Lemke, a master organ builder who once lived and worked here, the cottage offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Lemke crafted small pipe organs on-site and sold them from the back of his horse and cart to churches across South Australia and the eastern states. Today, two of his original organs remain in Barossa Valley churches.
Set on a spacious block filled with native trees and shrubs, the cottage is surrounded by peaceful, tranquil, and quiet surroundings—creating the perfect nature garden for relaxation and reflection.
Inside, guests will enjoy:
Two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed A separate bathroom and shower
Antique curios throughout the home
Full air-conditioning and a slow combustion heater Smart TV and free WiFi
A light breakfast including cereal, toast with condiments, tea, and coffee Ample parking and an electric vehicle charger on site
Perfect for couples and business travelers, Lemke Cottage offers a serene escape with easy access to Barossa wineries, historic churches, and scenic drives.
Come and experience the legacy of Daniel Lemke in a place where craftsmanship, nature, and hospitality meet.

🧠 Science Sunday 🧠
Every Sunday for the next couple of months, we’ll be sharing powerful quotes and insights from our scientific work — offering a deeper look into the thinking that guides our approach to wellbeing and trauma.

This week, we're thinking about complexity.

We all know humans are complex — and we live in a complex world. Yet many wellbeing programs still rely on oversimplified solutions and quick fixes.

We take a different path.
We believe in embracing complexity — in how we teach, support, and care for others. This is the heart of our mission: to build and empower wellbeing-responsive (and trauma-informed) communities.

We are delighted to walk side-by-side with Footsteps Road to Recovery as they join our partner community in The Bush Telegraph Port Augusta.
"Footsteps Road to Recovery is a service of the Aboriginal Drug & Alcohol Council and we are excited to be joining The Bush Telegraph as a partner agency. It is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a project that provides learning and skill development for our staff and one that encourages a community approach to dealing with trauma and growing wellbeing.”
