Hi 👋 I’d like to introduce my self and my family to all the new faces I’ve been seeing around here! I’m Catarina from the Gold Coast & I’m the candle maker and part time beekeeper at Miuze Retreat. I have 2 children and my hubby is the actual beekeeper at our place. I only have 2 hives of my own so I can also dive into the world of bees. 🐝

When I’m not preparing our Airbnb you’ll find me in my newly built she shed creating crafts or candles.

Exciting news 🕯 I’ll be launching our website this weekend so you can finally purchase some candles!

We don’t have any honey at the moment as we don’t harvest during winter ☀️ but with all our Queensland sun it won’t be long until honey season is upon us and I’ll add some to the website 🍯

We live in a biodiversity hotspot. Time to recognise that on World Biodiversity day.

Springbrook National Park is recognised as part of one of the world's most outstanding and valuable places. In December 1994, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee officially declared the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area over the Scenic Rim (including nearly all of Lamington and Springbrook national parks and most of Main Range and Mount Barney national parks) with the listed rainforests of northern and central New South Wales.

World Heritage listing is a prestigious international recognition of the important conservation values of this area, especially its unique geology, subtropical and cool temperate rainforests and rare fauna.
