THANK YOU- Over the past 2 weeks 12,000+ of our empty pots have been pickup to be re-used. A far better option than landfill or recycling. We have just completed our next planting schedule with another 2000 advanced native trees plants and 2000 native tubes to be ordered.

every week we take delivery of 50-60 m3 of mulch. Stockpiled 10-12 weeks ensure any seeds are killed and the mulch doesn’t strip essential nitrogen from the soil and young plants.

Todays project 480m2 of garden mulching commenced using 150m3 composted forest mulch, to be followed with 300 hundred endemic trees and shrubs.

The process we followed was

1. hand clearing of woody weeds,
2. whipper sniping small weeds and grass,
3. Spray with slasher organic herbicide
4. Spread mulch
5. use a mini excavator to drill plant holes,
6. fill with organic soil
7. plant trees and shrubs.
8. daily watering for 4 weeks
9. watering twice a week for another 4 weeks
10.fingers crossed the kangaroos and bandicots are kind to us.

Sustainable Business Practices -

“monuments and parks are not enough. To safeguard all our species,
all our ecosystems – and to make sure that they have the resources and space to adapt as the climate continues to warm – we need to do conservation everywhere. On private timberland, On farms, In Cities.”
“If you want to do conservation everywhere, then you have to include
places where people who are using the land or sea to make money.”

600 seedlings repotted today. Once established in tubes plants are repotted in 200mm pots using deep stem planting techniques to grow on. Whilst a little different to normal rehabilitation practices and extra work required to look after, we are having great success with this technique as the more established plants cope better when planting in ground and the kangaroos don’t do as much damage.

W**d Tea makes a great garden fertiliser. Simple place weeds in a container, cover with water and leave for 6 weeks. The solids can be added to the compost heap and liquid use in a ratio of 10:1 with water as a great nutrient boost in the garden. We have setup a number of drums to feed our plants. using only organic sprays on the property ensures the “tea’s” are safe for all our plants. The jar of tea shown is only 3 weeks old and will go much darker and richer in colour over the coming weeks.

When determining the position and design of our cabins, we took into account ideas such as maximising privacy for our guests, not visable to adjoining properties, zero impact on native vegetation, site suitability, to be totally off grid and unique positioning for each cabin. We are proposing 4 different cabin designs raging in size from 64m2 to 68m2 . Eight cabins the common area and storage shed will total 775m2. This amounts to only 0.2% usage of the total land.

Part of our environmental management plan showing the areas around each cabin to be rehabilitated. The area shown in orange is to be revegetated with endemic species to achieve a density of 1 plant per m2, (approximately 18,900).

The areas marked with green crosses are existing open spaces and will be cleared of weeds and a combination of natural recruitment and assisted revegetation techniques used. The open pasture and covenant areas will also have revegetation management plans developed.

It is also important to note no native trees or plants have been or will be damaged or removed in the process.

Meet one of the locals. This local loves nothing better than a load of fresh organic soil. The organic soils seems to attract all sorts of bugs and insects and this guy turns up regularly to check us out. Lying beside an old fence paling measures approximately 2 metres long.
