A wonderful 10 days here after a break of four months. We had a busy Summer holiday season when many families enjoyed being at beautiful Golden Beach. We dodged a bullet when cyclone Alfred missed the Sunshine Coast although it was a bit wet and wild for a couple of days. Now is the first week of Easter school holidays and great to see families exploring the sandbanks just as I did as a child. Some pictures of our recent stay.

We just finished having a few days in Golden Beach celebrating Carmen’s birthday. The highlight was a wonderful seafood lunch on the balcony. A nice array of fresh seafood from the Caloundra Seafood Market.

An enjoyable walk is to the south through the mangrove boardwalk over Lamborough Canal past Military Jetty then esplanade parkland all the way to Bells Creek. It is like stepping back in time. Just birds and the odd fisherman/woman. Military jetty was athe location for supplies to be taken over to Bribie Is in WWII to the military installations on the beach side. Part of our defence against the risk of invasion.

Beautiful morning at Golden Beach and it is great to see that the pelicans are enjoying it too. I saw on TV that there were thousands in the Channel country now because of the copious amounts of water out there. Perhaps it got too crowded for these guys and they have come back home.
