Easter long weekend - one of our favourite times of the year!

But did you know the coastal drowning risk is more than 10X GREATER over the Easter long weekend compared to non-holiday periods?! These are scary stats, so let's take action to ensure we stay safe this weekend.

If you're heading to the beach, please make sure to swim at a patrolled location during a patrolled time between the red and yellow flags. Download the www.beachsafe.org.au app to find your nearest location.

Plan ahead, avoid swimming and alcohol/drugs, and always be aware of your surroundings, especially when using inflatables. Supervise children in, on and around the water, and wear a lifejacket when boating, rock fishing or paddling.

Most importantly, look out for each other always ❤💛

The 2023 SA Wooden Boat Festival Art Trail is a celebration of art, culture, and maritime heritage. Starting today with the launch of the South Coast Regional Arts Centre's ""If I Had A Boat"" and “Remarkable”.

Additionally, the Strand Gallery at Port Elliot is collaborating with the Armfield Slip & Boatshed to present a unique exhibition of maritime-inspired art. The exhibition “Alice and the Lotus”. A story of a Remarkable woman, the River and a special Boat. Paintings, drawings & sculptures by award-winning Artists responding to the theme of the River and Boats.

Several other galleries along the Art Trail will have exhibitions running on the Festival weekend including; Artworx Gallery, Art @ Goolwa, Twin Pines Gallery, Stables & Studios, Goolwa, John Lacey’s Studio & Green Tank Gallery, Mt. Compass and Goolwa Visual Arts Group at Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.
