As a celebrant I see pain and suffering daily with families trying to make sense of the loss of loved ones under a myriad of circumstances. My experience tells me that there are not always easy answers, but as with all losses it’s time to rally around our communities and send support to those who need it most. I am thinking of the Jewish community, and everyone in Bondi, as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy. Violence like this has no place in the Australia we know and love — it’s time to embrace compassion as we do our best to move forward.
We all stand united.

My new life as a celebrant is made even more special when I receive a heartfelt note like this one. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Danny from Simplicity Funerals to make this service such a special one for the family. 🌹

'On behalf of Sean, I would like to thank you for the immensely moving and dignified service you have presented today. The photos were beautifully presented, the music and speaking volume was perfect and Lachlan's tributes were so beautiful. I had no idea I would shed a tear today but I was just so moved by the service that it was not to be helped.

The roses were absolutely divinely perfect! Whoever your supplier is, must have some magic in their green thumbs and Sean noticed with awe at the amazing quality. As you know, he does know his roses!

Danny made the process so easy, with Sean not having to worry about the cost or any of the details that he would have needed to handle. Also, in the weeks leading up to the event, I've been made aware of the respectful way Danny has been treating Sean, seeing him regularly. It is clear Sean has benefitted from your initiative, time and company and for that, Sean is (and I am) most grateful'.

All the best
Rachael

Ever wondered what it would be like to attend your own funeral?

Ever wondered what it would be like to say something to those grieving and saying goodbye to you?

If you answered yes to either of these questions then I am here to help you. In a safe and caring environment I can meet with you and talk about what you would like to say at your own funeral.

You can address everyone or dedicate personal messages to loved ones or friends. You can say all the things you have bottled up for years - the good or the bad, it's your own personal eulogy. It's your time to have the last word.

Once your eulogy is finished and signed off by you it will be placed in an envelope with a waxed seal applied. You can then keep it at home, with your solicitor, trusted friend, funeral director or an executor.

The choice is yours to make your living eulogy truly reflect you. Please call me to confidentially discuss your wishes.

I had the pleasure this week to assist a family with an absolute legend, not only a Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather but also a WW2 Veteran.
I organised the local RSL Sub Branch to provide the RSL Tribute to this hero, I also called upon a bugler to play the Last Post and Revile instead of the standard recorded version over the PA. The son of the deceased was battling with a really bad tickle in his throat whilst his sister was speaking so I slipped him a Butter Menthol to ease his mid Eulogy coughing.

The family sent me this message.
"Our family and friends loved the RSL part of the funeral and we thought that you did an amazing job bringing it all together for us as we had no idea how we were going to do it.
I personally thank you for the emergency lozenge".

Thanks for this feedback, its an amazing privilege I have.

I had a wonderful opportunity to assist a grieving family at the sudden loss of their Husband, Father and Grandfather. His passing was a shock and they had no idea what to do or how to plan his memorial. I spent a couple of hours with them walking them through their options and together we crafted a wonderful memorial service for him. The below is what they sent to me a few days after the service, I have removed names to maintain their privacy.
"Hi Lachlan,

Thank you for putting together a wonderful memorial service for Dad.
It was everything we wanted, and Dad would have loved it.
Everyone commented on what a beautiful service it was, and many shared a drink to celebrate Dad’s life.
Mum, ### and I sincerely thank you for all your guidance and advice during what has been a very sad time in our lives".

And that why I do what I do....

I have started writing "Living Eulogies", what's that you ask?

I so often hear at family meetings to plan a memorial service that I wish I had said this or said that to their Loved One that has passed, but the family can say what they need to say at the service during their eulogy.
There are also many things that the deceased wishes that they would have said to their families as well, but never got around to it, loving and special thoughts normally or even saying how proud they are of their family members. Sometimes there are other things you may want to say as well, but never got around to it.

Why not task me with the job of writing your" Living Eulogy" to be ready at your memorial service by your celebrant or clergy whilst you are alive. It remains Confidential and the only copy is in a wax sealed envelope in a safe place either with the funeral home or with your solicitor with all your other papers with full instructions on where and when it is to be read.

So if your interested in this service, please PM me and we can have a chat. You cant over plan for your memorial service, it takes the pressure off your grieving family.

I had the absolute pleasure to assist a family with their 99 year old patriarch after officiating at his wife's funeral in June. This man was an amazing individual and one of those people you meet and they leave an imprint on your heart, this was the case with this man when we met in May to organise his wife's memorial, they were together for 85 years.

Thanks Lachlan; we were very pleased with the service you provided , and the way it honored my Uncle. It made a difference that you had shared time with him previously, not just heard a collection of memories, special as that might be, and knew him as a person, as much as that can happen in the space of a conversation. He was real to you.
Much appreciated.
