As a little girl I was always drawing. I looked forward to art class at school, from kindy to year 12.
I would spend weekends drawing, or sketching in my dads little elders book while at work with him, trees, leaves and flowers mainly.
Over the years I'd pick up a pencil every now and but haven't used paint for a very long time.
We've had a fair bit on our plate recently and I've been suffering massive headaches that I just can't shake, even ended up in the E.D at hospital a few weeks back in excruciating pain....
So last week, I decided to grab some paints, brushes and canvas and just see what flows out.... I can tell you know, stress levels have come down and using my creative brain, with every stroke of the brush, has just been the BEST medicine.
I've surprised myself actually at how natural it feels too and having fun blending colours, tweaking and adjusting, trying not to be a perfectionist, but telling myself, it doesn't actually have to be perfect. Its art 🎨, nothing has to be perfect!
Let's see where this takes me in the next few months, a hobby for the short interim to shake the winter blues, or something ill continue 🤔
