Moore to Sea has had a birthday exterior makeover and our street view now matches the interior.

Oh what a journey. But like childbirth, the results are well worth the pain.

Things I love about it:

✔️ The colours. I ended up choosing Surfmist, Monument and ViVid White. I love how the white frames the deck.

✔️ Lighting - we went for marine grade down lights & sensors. Now when you arrive in the dark, the stairs and entrance lights up and they look modern, yet functional and will last well for our west-facing deck that’s gets sea-spray and the setting sun.

✔️ Leather lounges - comfort is always the first priority. This is the main space where guests enjoy the ever-changing views of the Moore River mouth and Indian Ocean. You eat for 10 mins, then want to relax and enjoy the company. Our house sleeps 10 and I wanted this to be the space where everyone can have a comfy seat, enjoy the views and gather to share and create memories. I agonised for so long over the furniture. I looked at outdoor settings and they’re all so uncomfortable, so opted for ‘indoor’ leather lounges as I see this as our outdoor lounging area. The custom covers were expensive, but so worth it.

✔️ Outdoor blinds - that breeze and light rain that forces you inside is shielded by the blinds now, but doesn’t interrupt the views. And the sometimes blinding sunset is also taken care of!

A quick look at our new deck space. The house looks so different from the road. So many houses along Gordon and Whitfield Streets getting makeovers. Arguably the best views of the Moore River and ocean in Guilderton, so no wonder! Now safe for babies and kids, fully enclosed backyard and deck for dogs. Deck Reno at the pointy end now, ready for the busy season of Spring! Girls’ weekends, school holidays and wildflowers 🌼. It’s taken a lot of time, energy, patience (and moola 💰), but nearly done. ✔️ Link in bio to book with me directly (and save).

Not easy finding quality outdoor lights to withstand the sun & salt air. But we did. Love ‘em!

Sensor lights give out enough light for entering the house after dark.

New stair railing & infill to match the deck balustrade.

The effort is worth the reward of happy guests who keep coming back for more! 🏡

Watch this space for all the improvements we’ve made during the past 6 weeks and in the next few too. (We’re painting the outside, paving, searching for a deep red frangipani tree to replace my ornamental plum that didn’t make it and other things too!)

If you’re needing a winter getaway, our outdoor blinds will be installed to protect our new extended deck while you watch the storms rolling in a few weeks — and we have vacancies in August. There’s nobody in town and it’s truly glorious. Trust me.
