Victoria's largest regional zoo is right on your doorstep, and it is spectacular. 🦒🦁

Halls Gap Zoo is home to over 120 species and 500 animals set across 52 acres beneath the shadow of the Grampians, from tiny marmosets and red pandas to a two-tonne southern white rhino. Animal encounters are a highlight, you can sit with meerkats climbing over your shoulders, hold hands with an Asian small-clawed otter, or feed a giraffe.

Started on Boxing Day 1982 as Wallaroo Wildlife Park, it's grown into one of regional Victoria's finest attractions. Just 7km from Halls Gap, make a morning of it and bring the kids. 🐾

Here's something that'll impress the kids, and the geologists.

Silverband Falls performs a neat trick: the water cascades roughly 20 metres down a terraced rock face… then disappears. No plunge pool. No visible outflow. It simply vanishes into the rocky ground, flowing underground before re-emerging further downstream.

Named by early European settlers for the thin silver ribbon of water against dark rock, it's a short and beautiful walk just 800 metres through cool fern-filled forest to the base of the falls. An easy, family-friendly adventure just minutes from Breeze Holiday Parks – Halls Gap. 🌿

The thundering sound arrives before the view does and then you see it. MacKenzie Falls is one of the largest and most powerful waterfalls in Victoria, roaring year-round through a dramatic gorge in the heart of Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park.

You can walk to the lookout for the full panorama or take the track down to the base, where the spray, the sound and the sheer scale of it will knock the breath right out of you.
