Calling all bushwalkers and Six Foot Track aficionados. The continuous 32km section between Megalong Road, Eco Lodge, Coxs River, Alum Creek, Black Range and Jenolan Caves Cabins is open - we have had groups walking this section of the track 12 weeks in a row without any issues and really enjoying the experience - look at their happy faces!

The steep section from Explorers Tree to Megalong Valley (Nellies Glen) remains closed due to fallen trees and track damage. Jenolan Caves Cottages to Jenolan Caves section is also closed due to repairs.

If you are planning to walk to the Eco Lodge from Megalong Road (~ 8km / 2.5 hour leisurely walk), you are not affected by the closure. You can park your car at the corner of Megalong Road and Aspinall Road (where the Six Foot Track crosses the Megalong Road). And perhaps enjoy wine tasting at DryRidge Estate on the way to the Eco Lodge.

If you were planning to walk from Explorers Tree (Katoomba), you can take an alternative route, the Devils Hole Track, starting from Cliffs Drive in Katoomba and merging onto the Six Foot Track in Megalong Valley.

See the detailed notes here:https://www.wildwalks.com/wildwalks_custom/walk_pdfs/saved/Devil's%20Hole%20Trail%20(nsw-bmnp-dht).pdf

Hello everyone, due to the recent bushfires, the track and the eco lodge will stay closed until 31st January.

Down from Nellies Glen towards Megalong, a wild fire went through but the track is okay now and getting ready for bush walkers. The section of the track from Jenolan Caves to Cox’s River Campground was back-burnt and the National Parks and Wildlife Services have been doing a great job fixing the contaminated lines. Also, we have been getting some good rain since last week

So the outlook for reopening on 1st February is looking positive.

Although very close, the whole lodge survived the bush fire and it is ready for your next stay. Thank you all for your concerns and offers of help – we hope you can come back to support us in 2020.
