Nice and quiet place, just outside of town.
The Motor Inn is located a couple of kilometers out of town. Rooms are spotlessly clean, large and very comfortable. Reception was efficient and friendly. There are loads of cockatoos hanging around the property late afternoon.

We recommend that when visiting Heywood that you most definitely need to check out the water tower mural in then centre of town. Not only is is stunning in artwork but has a really interesting story displayed at the base of the tower which inspired the art work. Must be the best large scale public art in Victoria .

On the shores of Tae Rak (Lake Condah) in south western Victoria you will find one of the oldest and most extensive aquaculture sites in the world.

The Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre & Café houses a kooyang (eel) holding tank and processing facility, as well as a retail space and a bush tucker café. The signature dish is the Kooyang Tasting Plates which can be sampled on-site. Don't delay - book a table and a guided tour today.

Two Rivers Gallery and Artspace is an Indigenous-managed community arts organisation loacted, at nearby Tyrendarra, that offers gallery space for exhibitions, performance-based events and provides various art-based workshops including basket weaving and string-making workshops.

The gallery provides a space for local Indigenous artists to display and sell their amazing art work including handmade jewellery, beeswax candles, pottery etc.

Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, or by appointment. #
