Day 31 of 'A photo a day in May' REVIEWS

It is the last day of May, so it also marks the end of the daily photos! Don't worry, I will still post on FB Instagram and TikTok, but not every day.

Instead of a photo of the farm or animals, I thought I'd share our latest review from our guests. It is incredible that people write such kind words after staying with us. I've connected with so many families over the last five and a half years and it makes me happy when people have a lovely holiday.

We get a lot of return guests book back in for holidays every year, which is fabulous! Some guests have even booked another holiday for later, while they are still here!

If you have ever taken the time to write us a review, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏🙌❤️ When we get 25 positive reviews in a year it helps us to get one step closer to keeping the rating of The Best of Queensland. I know it takes time and effort to write a review, so it is greatly appreciated.

We are fully booked up until September and then only a small window is available that month! How great that so many people have booked in so far ahead. 🤗

Day 30 of 'A photo a day in May'. Monty and Angel

These 2 cuties are always together and they are last years pygmy goat bottle fed babies. Monty is much lighter than Angel, but it wasn't always that way. When they arrived she was almost as light as him, but shes turned a lot darker in the last year! It is their birthday in about 3 and a half weeks and they will turn 1 on the 24th and 26th of June! 🥳🎂

Day 29 of 'A photo a day in May'. SUZIE SHEEP

Suzie sheep is a Dorper ewe and her birthday is in 7 days time. 🥳🎂 She will be 5 on the 5th of June so she must be ready for school soon. She is married to Barley sheep and she is a week older than him, so she is a cougar.

Dorpers are hair sheep, so they dont have wool. Suzie sheds most of her hair when the weather is warmer, but we still get a bit shorn off once a year and then she has a big bubble bath to make her shiny and white. That lasts for about 2 days and then she lays in the mud and poo and is back to looking her old self. 🫣😁 Have you met Suzie? Does anyone read these? Just checking. If so, today might have been mildly amusing, or alarming. 🤗

Day 28 of 'A photo a day in May'. Trying New Things!

Do you love this photo as much as I do? 🤗 💓

The lovely guest we are currently hosting was terrified to feed the ducks. However, she managed to conquer her fear...with a bit of persuasion! 😆

Sometimes you are held back from trying new experiences, simply due to that unknown element. When you have a go and come out the other side unscathed, you might realise it's actually fun!

Animals are great at grounding fears and sometimes you unlock a lifelong affiliation with them.

Have you met any animals that you were afraid of, but now love? How about if you have been to the farm. Did you fall in love with any of the animals at Fig Tree Farm?

Day 27 of 'A photo a day in May'. KARL!

Isn't he gorgeous! 🥰 Karl the Kookaburra has come to see us at the farm for the last 2 years, in winter time. This is a flashback photo from last year when he decided to randomly hop up onto me when I had been feeding him garden worms.

I am currently waiting with anticipation for his return this year. I really hope he comes back to say hello soon! I get a bit overexcited when he comes down as he is totally wild and doesnt have to visit. Pretty please Karl...come back soon!

Day 26 of 'A photo a day in May'. THE GARDEN

Around the cottage at the farm we have a garden filled with flowers and lovely squishy green grass. We often get complements on the grass beside the cottage when we are sitting on the picnic blanket feeding the guinea pigs. It is so lovely and soft and it is perfect for little feet! At the moment the grass is really green due to all the rain and the flowers are blooming beautifully. We have more rain due, so it should stay that way for a while!

Day 25 of 'A photo a day in May'. The Space

Fig Tree Farm B&B offers a modern and clean 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with so many extras included! The highlights are :

*3 large bedrooms with 1 king bed, 2 king-single beds and 2 regular single beds.

* 1 ensuite off the master bedroom as well as a family bathroom. ( 2 toilets and 2 showers).

* large kitchen with all modern conveniences like a full-sized fridge/freezer, induction cooktop, oven, microwave, airfryer, rice cooker, breadmaker and all the usual kitchen cookware etc that makes Fig Tree Farm a home away from home.

*large patio with sitting area and dining area, complete with a Webber BBQ and an outdoor play kitchen for the kids.

*2 hot outdoor baths that are spectacular and designed for creating a relaxing environment for adults. We even offer a baby monitor so you can soak while the kids are in bed.

*a firepit area with seating, lit by lights, complete with complementary wood, firestarters and marshmallow poles.

* Games and toys for adults and children, to keep everyone happy and occupied for hours! To mention a few we have a dolls house, car mat, ramps and cars, a train set, lego, American girl dolls and doll clothes, dinosaurs and animals, balls, mini golf, lawn bowls, loads of board games and so much more.

*The entire outdoor space around the cottage is private and only available for your booking. You don't have to share the space or cottage with any other families! The only people onsite are our family. We are here to welcome you, feed and care for the animals and provide guided animal encounters. The outdoor space includes the orchard where you can pick fruit, the firepit area, the animal paddocks, chicken pen, mini golf area and the South Pine river which is accessed through a locked gate for water safety (the key is at your disposal).

* And last, but not least, the stars of the show are the animals. We have 45 animals in total including sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, guinea pigs and cows!
