From IXL jam factory to art-filled escape.

The Henry Jones Art Hotel blends Tasmanian history, original sandstone and one-of-a-kind artworks into a stay unlike any other.

Henry Jones started here as a 12-year-old label-paster and ended up owning the whole operation, turning a small jam factory into one of Tasmania's great industrial stories.

Over a century later, the old warehouse still stands watch over the docks - red umbrellas out, moody skies above, the perfect cosy escape from a Hobart winter.

Tasmania's premier prize for early-career artists returns. $40,000 across Painting and Mixed Media, with $20,000 awarded to each category winner.

Free to enter. Open to Tasmanian residents aged 18 and over who are in the early stages of their artistic career, whether studying, recently graduated, or transitioning into art from another profession
