Heritage Accommodation
1 MICHELIN Key 2026 Corinda is situated about half a kilometre away from the old Campbell Street Court and Gaol.

The land was originally part of the convict-run vegetable garden, and the garden wall dates from this period. A cottage was built on the site in the 1850's, this became the servants quarters of the main building when it was built in 1880. Alfred Crisp, the builder, was a wealthy timber merchant and son of a convict. He later became Lord Mayor of Hobart. After Alfred died, his daughter lived on in the house until about 1930. The property then became a boarding house before reverting to a private residence in 1980. Corinda's historic outbuildings, the gardener's residence, the servants quarters and coach-house are now delightful self-contained cottages.

A very special milestone for Corinda. 🗝️

We are incredibly honoured to have been awarded One MICHELIN Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide - our first MICHELIN Key.

To join the ranks of so many exceptional hotels, especially the wonderful properties here in Tasmania, is a true privilege and something we are incredibly proud of.

At Corinda, we have always believed that a stay is about more than just a beautiful room. It is about sharing the history and character of this special house, welcoming every guest with warmth, and creating a place where people can slow down, feel at home, and make memories.

Every room, garden and corner of Corinda has a story to tell, and we feel incredibly lucky to be able to share those stories with guests from around the world.

Most importantly, this recognition would not be possible without our passionate and caring team. Their dedication, attention to detail and genuine love for Corinda is what brings this house to life every day. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our team, our guests, and everyone who has been part of Corinda’s journey.

We are so grateful to receive this recognition and excited to continue welcoming you to our little piece of Tasmanian history. 🗝️✨
