Yvette Watt's solo exhibition 'Well this is awkward...' opens at The Schoolhouse this Sunday at 2pm.

This exhibition is marked by an embrace of awkwardness through paintings that reflect the unsettled nature of our relationships with the nonhuman world, while simultaneously resonating with the artist’s experiences of uncertainty and self-doubt as an older painter.

With a longstanding interest in human-nonhuman relationships, Yvette’s work reflects the awkward, often fraught interactions between humans and other animals. This sensibility extends to her own practice, where she navigates persistent feelings of awkwardness, transforming them into a defining characteristic of her art as an act of resistance.

Tasmania is prepared for H5 bird flu.

H5 bird flu has not yet been detected in Tasmania, but plans are in place and the Tasmanian Government is working closely with industry, veterinarians, wildlife carers and the community to ensure we're ready if the situation changes.

Help us protect Tasmania's wildlife, agriculture and biosecurity reputation.
Importantly, chicken meat and eggs remain safe to eat when handled and cooked properly.

If you see sick or dead birds or other wildlife:
✅ AVOID contact.
✅RECORD what you see - the type of animal, the number of animals, the location and take photos or video.
✅ REPORT by calling the Emergency Animal Disease hotline as soon as possible on 1800 675 888 or through the online reporting form.

The stories of convict women were once pushed to the edges of history.

At Cascades Female Factory, those stories stand at the centre. Walk through the yards where thousands of women lived, worked, gave birth, formed friendships and endured punishment within the colonial convict system.

The Convict Women’s Tour explores the deeply human experiences behind the records and reveals how they helped shape Tasmania’s history, even when history tried to forget them.

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST DIVE SITE!!!

Meet Flatlantis! Flatlantis is our newest deep diving site. Its a reef located south of Port Arthur that sits at 37 metrea deep. The reef was spotted on the sounder years ago but we never got to check it out till a few weeks ago.

Its a huge underwater reef that pops up to 35metres deep and down to 38metres deep and is surrounded by a field of sand. Thus its pretty flat but pretty amazing.

You do need to decend into the Blue on a shot line to get onto it but once you do its an incredible place to explore.

So why not come meet FLATLANTIS too. Join one of our deep charters or jump on one of our deep courses (there is one at the start of July!!!)
