Dear Pocketspace guests past and future. Andy and myself have decided to take Pocketspace off Airbnb in April next year. There is a housing unaffordability crisis in Hobart at the moment which is being impacted by short term accommodation like ours.
Pocketspace has been an amazing journey that we have been extremely privileged to have had. It was my segway back into the workforce after having Oscar. He would toddle around on the floor whilst I cleaned.
There have been massive highs: We have received innumerable hand written notes, gifts, illustrations, kids drawings and kind words. We have met people at the airport, at the pub and adventured into the forests with guests.
Three former guests have become dear friends to us.
We covered our mortgage payment on a property which will one day be Oscar’s and you have contributed to that.
We hope Pocketspace has been captured in people’s treasured holiday memories.
So until April we will donate $10 from every booking to local housing charity Hobart City Mission.
