Warm weather building across Queensland this weekend.
A burst of early-Spring heat is forecast to extend through Queensland, northern NSW, the NT, SA and WA in the coming week, with the warmest weather expected this weekend. Some areas could climb as much as 12℃ above the September average.
Brisbane is expected to break 30℃ on three (maybe four) consecutive days starting this Friday, potentially a September record. On average, Brisbane climbs above 30℃ less than once per year, so 3 separate days above 30℃ in the first week would certainly be unseasonable.
In Early September, northern Australia typically begins to warm up as radiation becomes more intense over the region, however thanks to a surge of low pressure systems and cold fronts moving across the nations Southeast (VIC, TAS and Southern NSW), hot air will be dragged south.
The low pressure systems continuing to march across the nations south coast will keep states like VIC and southern NSW & SA cold, so keep jackets handy in Melbourne and Adelaide. However, Sydney, Brisbane, and areas further north and inland, get ready to skip Spring and head straight into Summer! ~Josh
