North from Perth

We left Perth this morning and headed north along the spectacular Indian Ocean Drive, with beautiful coastal scenery and colourful wildflowers along the way.

Our day ended at The Pinnacles, where thousands of ancient limestone formations rise dramatically from the golden sands of Nambung National Park. Arriving in the late-afternoon light made this extraordinary landscape even more striking — an awesome sight and a wonderful finale to our day before continuing to Cervantes.

From winding mountain passes and mirror-still lakes to waterfalls tucked into fern-lined gullies, grazing horses, and dramatic skies rolling over The Remarkables — Queenstown delivered beauty in every direction.

We slowed the pace, followed the light, and soaked up the scale of it all. Wild, peaceful, and quietly breathtaking — this corner of the South Island will stay with us long after the journey continues.
