One of the things we love about winter in Launceston is that a little rain never gets in the way of a perfect day out.

Discover QVMAG Inveresk, where you can wander through historic railway workshops, enjoy dinosaur like a kid and gaze at the stars in the Planetarium. or head to the Queen Victoria Art Gallery to explore beautiful colonial and contemporary works and ever-changing exhibitions celebrating Tasmanian stories.

For something a little different, step back in time among beautifully restored classic cars at the National Automobile Museum, or marvel at the incredible collection of Salvador Dalí works at Dada Muse – the largest collection of Dalí’s art outside Europe.

Looking for something a little cosier? Settle in for a movie and let the rain roll by at the beautifully restored Star Theatre, offering loads of charm and delicious food.

Winter in Launnie has a different pace, and it’s all part of the charm.

One of the things we love most about the ~ Tassie Off Season ~ is the thoughtful experiences and little moments that make winter feel so special ❄️🔥

~
Right here in Launnie there’s plenty to enjoy, from those cosy café corners to our lovely local shops, bars and museums.

Take the opportunity to discover what makes our Cataract Gorge such a special place by boat or from above, on a delightful winter cruise (hot choccy included!) with Tamar River Cruises, or a 'Chair and a Yarn' with the Gorge Scenic Chairlift. So perfect!

~
Venturing a little further afield? So many opportunites await!

🐛✨ Like glow worm gazing at the Mole Creek Caves

⛷️🍷 Sipping mulled wine after a day on the snow fields at Ben Lomond Alpine Resort base

🍇🍾 Taking a vineyard safari at the House of Arras Cellar Door

🥃🐾 Filling your own whisky bottle and supporting the Tassie Devils at Launceston Distillery

🐶🔥 Or enjoying an afternoon hunting for truffles with a fireside treat after at The Truffle Farm
