Something gets left behind in nearly every house. Mostly chargers, and usually the same brand.

But sometimes it’s a child’s toy or a hat on the kitchen bench. We always do our best to get your belongings back to you.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever left behind somewhere?

Every single thing in our houses was chosen on purpose.

Not because it looks good in photos, but because of how it feels at 10pm after a long drive, or at 6am before a race day, a hospital visit or a swim meet.

The mattress. The linen. Blinds that actually block the light. A kitchen with sharp knives and pans that don’t stick. Good coffee for the first morning.

None of it is fancy. All of it matters.

The question we get most is never about the photos. It’s who sleeps where.

So here it is, room by room. Couple upstairs in their Master Suite, kids in the King Single beds room, Grandparents in the room next door, second living area for whoever needs ten minutes alone, and two bathrooms so the morning doesn’t turn into a queue.

People in one house works when the rooms are the right distance apart. That’s the whole trick.

Everyone waits for the next long weekend.
October and November are better, and almost nobody takes them.

Today was the last public holiday in Queensland this year, and Term 4 runs ten weeks straight to December. So the next two months are quiet. Nothing's booked out, nothing costs what it costs in January, and you're not sharing the beach with the whole state.

And from November, the turtles start nesting at Mon Repos. It's the best thing that happens on this coast all year, and it happens while everyone else is waiting for Christmas.

Take a Friday off. Two nights is plenty.
Save this for a quiet weekend in November. 🐢
