Terragong House is included on the Register of National Estate with the Australian Heritage Commission, as well as on the Register of the National Trust of Australia. The mature trees, including Magnolia Grandiflora, Morton Bay Figs and Norfolk and Bunya Pines, are also of heritage interest (most estimated to be over 120 years of age) and provide an idyllic setting for the home. Terragong represents a unique piece of dairying history nestled in the lush green valley of Jamberoo on the New South Wales South Coast. Built in 1858, for the last 150 years this homestead has been home to seven generations of the Marks family. In July of 2014, Darryl and Simon purchased Terragong with the intention of renovating, restoring and rescuing this classic Colonial Georgian farmstead, in the process making a wonderful home in the country. We opened the estate to guests with the launch of Terragong 1858 Country House Bed & Breakfast accommodation at Easter 2016.
In our first year of welcoming bed & breakfast guests to Terragong, we received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence (2017), ranked first for B&B/Inn accommodation in the Kiama Municipality, received a Guest Review Award (9.9/10) from booking.com and were chosen βBest Regional Getawayβ in the 2017 Alluxia Awards. We love what we do - and itβs wonderful to receive this recognition, the result of some very humbling and very much appreciated feedback from our guests.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to Terragong in the near future.
Warmest regards, your hosts, Simon & Darryl
