Sadly Wombat Way Cottage is no longer let for tourism. We have enjoyed meeting many delightful people over the years.
Time to move on to other things.

Walked a lap around Lakes Entrance this most beautiful morning, followed by coffee at Charnwood Cafe with family. Quite a few families enjoying a walk or bike ride too.

The fires may have chased tourists and towns folk away for a short time, but we are back to the fantastic summer days as always. This long weekend has many events happening, so looking forward to attending some of them.

Family enjoyed a great time on Lakes Entrance Segways this morning with Christmas Gift vouchers.
Along the sea wall of Cunningham Arm and back over the footbridge to the beach.

Late April tours move to Wyanga Park Winery with tastings, lunch and segway ride. Also Bairnsdale Sunday Market. along the river , and Lake Bunga are planned.

Just enjoyed a huge delicious lunch at the Aboriginal Art Show "Woodard Wanik Waring - Mountain Pathway to the Sea" interesting pictures and art objects.
Note the indigenous name for Wombat is Noorat. Also our kookaburras called Korat.
Cafe and Art staff were the best ... most friendly.
Well worth stoppng in for lunch or coffee break.

For those visiting Lakes Entrance this weekend, check out the link below to Hooked On Lakes. Food, entertainment and a dry (on land) boat regatta obstacle course among other interesting activities. Sounds like fun.

On Saturday 9 March 2019, the free 'Hooked on Lakes Entrance' festival is happening again, this year in collaboration with Lakes Entrance Events. The event will go from 10am-9pm at the Lakes Entrance Foreshore Reserve overlooking the water.

Here at Lakes Entrance we are away and safe from the many fires around Victoria at present. Big shout out to Emergency people doing a tremendous job, and to those who have lost homes.
We have had red skies by day and a huge smoke cloud the other afternoon from the distant fires. Nature puts on some interesting events and displays.
