Meet the neighbours 🦘

Out here, the locals don't knock. Kangaroos grazing by the cabin door. An echidna on its slow morning rounds. A wombat trundling home through the grass. Wallabies wandering past while you sip your coffee. And after dark, a curious possum checking who's new in town.

Look up and you might catch yellow-tailed black cockatoos sweeping across the valley, calling as they go.

"We loved our stay at this property for our honeymoon. Our last accommodation cancelled on us last minute but it worked in our favour because this stay was beyond incredible. The property covered all the senses - beautiful views to look at, peaceful sounds of wildlife and nature, perfectly scented rooms inside (cannot get enough of that diffuser in the bathroom) and incredible luxurious taste in finishings from the marshmallows left by the fireplace to the soft fluffy towels. A weekend away that actually feels like a holiday, for everyone.

The Lodge at Mt Kanimbla Retreats sleeps up to 10 across four bedrooms, with two living areas, a fire pit, a snooker table, and a few resident rescue ponies the kids will want to visit twice a day. Oh and The Lodge is pet friendly! Don't forget the chickens and the mineral plunge pool.

Set on 36 acres of Blue Mountains bushland, just two hours from Sydney. Close enough for a spontaneous weekend, far enough to feel like you've properly gotten away.

We're thrilled to share that Mt Kanimbla Retreats has been named a finalist in the 2026 NSW Tourism Awards for self-contained accommodation.

What began as a dream on 36 acres high above the Kanimbla Valley has grown into three luxury cabins where guests come to slow down, soak in a stone bath beneath the stars, and wake to mist rolling through the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains.

To every guest who has stayed with us, shared a kind word, or told a friend about us: this recognition belongs to you too. Thank you for being part of our story.
