🏅 Celebrating the Karratha Kats 2026 Season 🏅

Cherratta Lodge joined the Karratha Kats Presentation Night 2026 at The SHELF to celebrate another great season with players, coaches, volunteers, families, fellow sponsors and supporters.

As a proud sponsor of the Karratha Kats, it was fantastic to come together and recognise the people who contribute so much to the club, both on and off the field.

Congratulations to all of the award recipients, including Jake Hunter and Jack Harris, who shared the 2026 Couper Medal, and Trevor “Jockey” Bassett, named the 2026 Kevin Richards Club Person.

A big thank you to Tom Seccull and the entire Karratha Kats Football & Sporting Club Inc. team for inviting Cherratta to be part of the evening and for putting together such an enjoyable night. The strength of clubs like the Kats comes from the people behind them, and it was great to see that community spirit on display.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Roebourne District High School to Cherratta Lodge for a behind-the-scenes look at our operation and the many career pathways available within our industry.

The students toured the Lodge and met members of our team across different departments, gaining an insight into the variety of roles that come together every day to keep Cherratta running.

One of the highlights was hearing from some of our Heads of Department, who shared their own working journeys — from leaving school and taking their first steps into the workforce, through to the different opportunities and experiences that eventually led them to their current roles at Cherratta Lodge.

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and, even better, to hear the students asking plenty of great questions about employment, training and where different career paths can lead.
We finished the visit by sitting down together for lunch before saying goodbye.

It was a very worthwhile experience for everyone involved, and we hope today gave the students a glimpse of just how many different opportunities are available to them as they begin thinking about life beyond school.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming some of the students back next term for workplace familiarisation days and potential school-based work experience placements, giving them the opportunity to spend more time alongside our team and experience different roles firsthand.

A special thank you to Ngaarda Media for coming along and documenting the day. We really appreciate your support in helping us capture and share such a positive experience for our local young people.

Thank you also to Roebourne District High School, our Cherratta Lodge team, and everyone who helped make today’s visit possible.

We look forward to continuing to support local young people and creating pathways into training and employment right here in the Pilbara.

A Great Evening at KDCCI Business After Hours!

It was lovely to attend the KDCCI Business After Hours event, co-hosted by Red Dog Renewables and Winyama Contracting Group .

A fantastic opportunity to catch up with the team from Ngaarda Media, Karratha Community House, Velocity, and many other familiar faces from our local business community.

A big thank you to the hosts for putting on such a great event and bringing everyone together.

A special shout-out to our Facility Manager Dean, for coming along after a hard day's work out in the sun. Really appreciate you making the effort, mate!

Cherratta Lodge is proud to have been named a finalist in the Pilbara Heart of Social Enterprise category at the 2026 Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards, organised by Pilbara for Purpose.

This year’s theme, “Heart of the Pilbara,” recognises the people and organisations whose passion, resilience and purpose strengthen our communities every day.

That message really resonates with Cherratta.
Our connection to the Pilbara is at the heart of what we do — from supporting local organisations and creating opportunities, to building partnerships and contributing to the community beyond our accommodation operations.

Being recognised as a finalist was a wonderful acknowledgement of the people behind this work and the contribution our team continues to make across the region.

Celebrating 16 Years of Cherratta!

16 years in business… now that’s a lot of stories!
From humble beginnings and plenty of lessons along the way, to the moments that made us laugh, scratch our heads, and occasionally wonder “how did that even happen?” — it’s been quite a ride!

For our latest Cherratta High Five, we’re taking a little trip down memory lane and having a good old chat about the journey so far — where it all began, the moments that have shaped us, and what keeps us excited about what’s ahead.

Sixteen years is a pretty big milestone, and we couldn’t have made it this far without the people who have been part of the Cherratta story along the way.
