A single frontal shot that had this beautiful old cow down in 20m. A seriously underrated hunt when up here in the nt. buffalo cows are far more alert and cunning than their male counterparts.

How all birthday weekend should be spent. A great hunt with the finest company. Justina is the number one supporter of what I do here at True wild so it’s only fair that she has the opportunity to hunt such an awesome beast. Old wise bulls like this are not under every shady tree but sure make one hell of a hunt when you find them. This fells had battle scars from many moons ago and horns that tell a story of battles won and lost. A stalk that lasted over an hour with countless shot opportunities but we waited for the very moment we knew would bring success. A 18m broadside shot in the blistering heat had it all over in less than a minute. up front, shafts and of course we had our glass on hand.

The last few seasons have sparked a passion in me that will never die. Beginning as a humble rifle hunter from the Uk and traveling to the most remote and untouched parts of Aussie to hunt Water buffalo that has now transformed in too 5 very successful seasons helping other hunters achieve their life time goals. This photo resembles the finished picture but there is one hell of a journey to get to this stage. I can assure you we have bumps in the road and spill some blood , sweat and tears but that’s what makes it all the more wholesome. We have almost filled our 2024 season but will be booking for the 2025 season if you guys are still as fizzing to explore the remote Central Arnhem Plateau.

Buffalo cows come in all shapes and sizes. It’s a challenging hunt but one that’s certainly worth the effort. This sako doing what’s it was designed for makes it all the more special.

It’s not every week we see a bull of this calibre. Great mass and over three ear lengths makes this bull right up there with as good as they get here on the central Arnhem plateau! Let us know how big you think this brute went in the Sci system!!

Jason put in the hard graft for the property this season and reaped the rewards. This beautiful crescent bull was just what he had been chasing. So stoked we can find quality bulls so consistently. The 2024 season is filling up fast so be sure to reach out if you are keen for a adventure of a lifetime.

Throw back to possibly my favourite bull of the 2023 season. This old fella had given myself and the slip with multiple clients. Living in a tight gully 2kms up in to a huge escarpment. We decided to change up our plan of attack and do a 4K loop through steep rocky and desolate country to get the drop on him. Too our surprise he was on the top of the escarpment looking down the head of the gully. One well placed shot at 80m in some pretty tight sapling country had him drop on the spot. One to remember for a great repeat client big mick aka Gimp.

Just like in the buffalo, the scrub cows are a seriously cool critter to hunt. Way more alert than their male counterparts and they sure as hell grow some funky head gear. Our good client Sam getting the job done with his rigby highland stalker in 9.3 a beautiful rifle and a beautiful critter.

On our 4th day of hunting this 3/1 hunting group had yet to take a scrub bull due to poor wind and focusing on getting a buff of a life time. This bull is the third for the afternoon. All our stars aligned and we managed to get three beautiful bulls on the deck and third flatskins in the salt. It was a big effort from the team after taking this bull 10 minutes before the light failed us. Just goes to show that it’s not over until the light has faded on your last day out bush!

Age, mass and broken tips on this old battler! This is your classic dugga boy water buffalo. You can hunt for years and not even lay eyes on a specimen like this! Congratulations Shaun for getting it done over a 3 hour stalk!
