Heatwave expected across the Blue Mountains 🌡️

Hot conditions are forecast over the coming days. Please take extra care of yourself and those around you.

Need a cooler place?
🏊 Entry to all Blue Mountains City Council pools will be FREE Saturday 10 January. The local pool is a great place to stay cool. Access to Council aquatic centres is always free for people over 75 and children under 3.
📚 Council libraries are air-conditioned and everyone is welcome.

Ways to stay cool:
💧 Stock your fridge and freezer with water bottles and ice trays
🧊 Freeze a couple of damp washers to use on your neck or wrists
🌬️ Use fans and keep blinds or curtains closed during the day
🕘 Do any essential outdoor tasks early and avoid unnecessary activity in the heat.

Please check on elderly neighbours, young children and anyone who may be vulnerable, and remember to keep pets and wildlife cool and hydrated.
