IT'S OFFICIAL – WE'RE FINALLY UNDERWAY! 🍻🏗️
After a long journey through approvals, we're thrilled to announce that we've officially received the green light to commence work on the Harp & Fiddle!
Many of you have been asking when work would begin, and we completely understand the anticipation. Restoring and reimagining a heritage building is never a quick process. Every detail requires careful planning, specialist reports, and approvals to ensure this important piece of Katoomba's history is protected for future generations.
While it may have looked quiet from the outside, plenty has been happening behind the scenes. In 2025 we completed the restoration of the building's beautiful heritage façade, including recreating the stunning stained-glass details that had been lost over time. That was just the beginning.
Now, with approvals finally in place, we can't wait to get inside and start bringing this incredible building back to life.
For well over a century this building has been part of the Carrington story. It began as a public bar and bottle shop in the early 1900s before expanding to include the historic snooker hall upstairs—today's Baroque Room. Many locals will also remember it as the much-loved Harp & Fiddle, where countless memories were made.
Our goal is to honour that history while creating an exciting new chapter for the building.
