Carrington Cellars & Deli is looking for a passionate, food-loving people-person to join our small and friendly team. Part of the iconic Carrington Hotel, our bespoke bottle shop and deli showcases fine w**e, premium spirits, craft b**r, artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, sweets and beautifully curated gourmet hampers.

✨ This role is ideal for someone with a gourmet food background — or a chef looking for a career change.

To be considered, you’ll:
• Hold a valid NSW RSA
• Have deli experience (chef background or gourmet food sales highly regarded)
• Bring great customer service skills in a retail environment
• Love meeting new people and sharing product knowledge
• Work well in a team and show leadership qualities
• Be professional, proactive and positive
• Be creative and eager to learn about our products
• Be available for a mix of shifts, including weekends and public holidays

🕰 The details:
• Open 7 days | 10:00am – 6:30pm
• Casual role | approx. 25–30 hours per week
• Consistent shifts with flexible arrangements for the right person

🕰️ A Postcard from the Past | Murray Views No. 109

This charming vintage postcard, titled Carrington Hotel, Katoomba, N.S.W., was part of the Murray Views series and numbered 109.

We suspect it dates from the late 1930s or early 1940s, capturing the hotel’s grand verandah, terracotta roof tiles, gardens and the motor cars of the era. Its colours give it the appearance of a hand-coloured photograph, offering a glimpse of The Carrington in a bygone era.

Imagine arriving at The Carrington in those days, stepping out of the car and into one of Katoomba’s grandest hotels, surrounded by the fresh mountain air.

✨One of our traditional rooms has recently had a soft refresh - a new coat of paint and a beautiful new addition — stained glass windows by local artist Robyn Austin.

Room 37 retains the charm of a traditional Carrington stay, with the room’s bathroom facilities located just along the hallway. But unlike bygone days, each individual bathroom cubicle is key-locked to your room for the duration of your stay, giving you your own private bathroom space.

And now, there’s a little more colour to enjoy. 💜🧡 The room’s original double-hung windows have been given a new lease on life with Robyn’s beautiful stained glass creation. We absolutely love the rich combination of orange and purple tones and the way they catch the light. A small detail, but one that adds so much character.

Room 37 has certainly found its colour. ✨
