All Fishing is Prohibited

The Mary River Catchment Committee says from today until October 31, there's a ban on all fishing in the Mary River upstream of Gympie and also in the adjoining waterways of Six Mile Creek, Amamoor Creek, Kandanga Creek, Yabba Creek, Little Yabba Creek, Belli Creek and Obi Obi Creek.

This doesn't include Baroon Pocket Dam, Borumba Dam and Lake McDonald.

The committee says it's to protect the endangered Mary River cod during their breeding season, and is urging people to report any illegal fishing activity.
