Originally 22,000 hectares, the Homestead selection was taken up in 1850. The current homestead building was commissioned by Isaac Moore in the 1860’s, and built by 2 cabinet makers from the Orkney Islands. Made of solid red cedar (right down to the rafters in the roof), it was hand milled on the property from the abundant supply of cedar trees. The old hay barn and horse boxes were built it 1901, and are still in use today for weddings and other functions. Over the years the Homestead has extended a warm welcome to thousands of guests, campers and dignitaries including Lord Lamington, Lord Chelmsford, The Swedish ambassador to Australia, and many others. Kenilworth Homestead is still one of South East Queensland’s premiere family campsites, we offer powered and unpowered camping (tent, camper, caravan),and our Spa Rooms. Today you are welcome to visit and stay or camp in the grounds of this historic part of the Mary Valley.

If you’d like a campfire, our preferred set up is that you bring your own fire pit. If you don’t have one please chat to our staff on site as to how to go about setting up a campfire 🔥

Our next market is coming very soon and we have an amazing group of stallholders, lots of new faces and we are really excited for you, our buyers, you will love what these guys have on offer ✨ over the next few weeks we will be giving you a glimpse of what you can expect to see on the 18th. As usual, bring cash for the quickest of sales, most vendors have card option available also. Lovely Brook will be on site making coffees, pastries for breakfast, flowers and an amazing opportunity for you to snap up some forever pieces and lots of on trend items ready to take pride of place and elevate any space you are working with. What we love about our market and what we try very hard to curate are vendors selling pieces that offer story, warmth and sentiment that can fit into almost any space and can also be used for professional styling and photography.
