Situated on the edge of the Ovens National Park, Windswept Farm Stay is the ideal base for exploring the region. With beautiful views of the surrounding farmland, Windswept Cottage offers peaceful and relaxing accommodation.
We are conveniently located just 15km from Wangaratta and 25km from Bundalong, and a short drive from the historic wine town of Rutherglen and the gourmet delights of the King Valley. The water playgrounds of Mulwala and Yarrawonga are an easy drive away, as is the historic gold town of Beechworth. Bright, Mount Buffalo, & the Alpine National Parks are slightly further but still suitable for a day trip.
Windswept Farm Stay is located right on the edge of the heritage-listed Ovens National Park, and the Ovens River, featuring forests of majestic Red River Gums. It is a fantastic place to connect with nature, offering opportunities for bird watching, camping, canoeing, horse riding, boating, cycling, hiking, and photography. Several walking trails meander through the stunning River Gums, with perfect spots for a picnic.
After a day of exploring the area's beauty, you can return to the serenity of your cottage on the farm.
Located on our working farm, Windswept Cottage is home to the magnificent Colonial Clydesdales, who can often be seen grazing peacefully in paddocks next to the cottage. You will also see cows and sheep (including cute baby calves and lambs during the season), and our donkey, Monty, all contributing to the enjoyable and relaxing experience of staying here.
The cottage is a fully self-contained country retreat designed for peace and comfort. It includes:
- A kitchen with a fridge and cooking facilities.
- Three bedrooms and one bathroom.
- All linen, bath towels, and cooking utensils are provided.
- A dining area and living area with a TV.
- A laundry with a washing machine.
The secluded and peaceful garden has a table and chairs where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the views and magnificent sunsets.
We like to spoil our guests by supplying tea, coffee, milk, and fresh eggs from our free-range chickens for your breakfast.
There is ample parking and room to park and turn a boat, caravan, or horse float.
